I here by interrupt your original programming for pointless reality.  
01. So far today I've spent forty-five minutes wondering around uptown because of bad directions, had a drug test, met with Student Financial Services, picked up necessities at CVS, returned my library books, grabbed lunch from Panera, and dropped off a paper in the English department. I did all of it in the rain without an umbrella or hood and am now miserable. It's only noon and I want this day to be over. Thank God my first class was canceled, now if only the next three would be too.

03. I have so much homework to do right now that I really should be doing something other than updating my LJ, yet here I am. Yay for responsibility!

04. Who else is pissy about Kings? Because it's been a week and I still wanna cut a bitch.

05. The first picture from The Good Guy was finally released by Entertainment Weekly and I's so excited! Scott Porter! Alexis Bledel! Bryan Greenberg! In a love triangle! It's almost enough to make a girl not hate life.

ETA: Umm. You guys should rec me things. Like whatever. Fic, pic!spams, icons, sites, articles, I don't care. Show me shiny things that will make the next ten hours more bearable. Pretty please?

Bleh.  
01. RUN FOR COVER!! My roommates are cleaning the apartment. Clearly the apocalypse will be here any minute. I just can't decide if I want it to come before or after the three of us go see Twilight tomorrow.

02. The Chicago Public Library has a branch like two blocks from me. I went and signed up for a card earlier today so that I could check out obscure books for two of my final class projects. THE PLACE IS FUCKING HUGE. With marble. And columns. Nine floors. Like twelve entrances. A million escalators. And apparently my library card came with a free urge to cower in a corner because I was so overwhelmed by all the books that the word overwhelmed is an understatement. (Unfortunately, there's a five book limit for the first thirty days.) It also made me realize that I haven't read a new book simply for fun since this summer and I miss reading. Anybody have any good book suggestions?

My flist is like dead. I know we're all hung over on sugar (or... other things) but snap out of it!  
01. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween last night! I myself didn't do anything special. I'm not really into the party scene, which is what my roommates and most of my local friends ended up doing, and I never got around to coming up with a costume anyway, so I me and Blaire are just chilled at his place. He wanted to watch Hocus Pocus but we couldn't find it anywhere, and he refused to watch Halloweentown with me, so we watched Nightmare Before Christmas (which I had never seen) and Mean Girls (hey, it has a Halloween scene in it!).

02. I reinstated my Netflix recently even though I'm broke because I figured a monthly subscription will cost less than me going out because I got bored. First up was Circadian Rhythm and all I have to say is, poor David Anders. He deserves so much better than that piece of crap. It was going for psychological thriller and just ended up being stupid and confusing. Plus, I'm pretty sure that was the lowest production value I have ever seen... and I'm in art school. On the other hand, Prom Night was a lot better. I wasn't expecting much and it was far from amazing but it was really enjoyable and I love me some Scott Porter. I expected him to be killed off first but was happily surprised when that wasn't the case. Brittany did a really good job in it as well and Jessica Stroup didn't look anorexic at all so there's that too.

05. I finished that project I was talking about earlier, the one for my Digital Image Design class that I was using V for Vendetta for. The final piece is here. It's my first real attempt at using vectors and only one part was done doing live trace, the rest I had to do with the pen tool, so let me know what you think.

ETA: I've started posting the prompt response ficlets in the comments on this post. I'm still looking for more prompts though so do so if you wanna help a girl out ;)

And I'm BAAAAAAACK in the game! (Name that quote!)  
01. I am not even going to try and catch you guys up on everything that has happened to me since I last updated. Too much. Too much. I will say this: School is fine but busy and a little overwhelming at times. Work is... not work because I quit my job at the Barnes and Noble Cafe because it was hell. (Long story.) My two internships are great though and one of them might lead to a paid position by the end of the year so that's good. Until then, I've been interviewing and looking for something else. I still love my roommates, just Cat more than Britt. The latter is just. so. loud. And messy. It can be irritating. Especially last week when the loudness was scheduled at 4AM when I had a nine hour shift that started at 6:45AM. Ugh.

02. I bit the bullet and got a new computer, a Macbook this time. It's black and it's shiny and he's named Max and I love him. HOWEVER! I need help. All you Mac owners and/or web designers... ( Help a girl out? I'm incredibly desperate. )

03. Go vote in the fic exchange poll at [info]choco_cherries. While you're at it, write a drabblish for this week's prompt. K? K.

04. The trailer for Kyle Gallner's new movie is out and it makes me miss the good old days when I was obsessed with him, before all of the fansite bullshit ruined it for me.

forced laughs, fake smile; just force it out 'cause it's all the same to them  
01. I'm back from my summer semester at Columbia (which hopefully means I'll get around to updating more). We had our final showcase on Friday so Mom and my grandparents came to see that and then they packed up the car and took my stuff back with them. I rode the train home Saturday morning after an all-nighter with the roommates... or three out of the four. Me, Erin and Jess (the two in the connecting room) all watched movies and acted stupid one last time but Molly left around eleven... and didn't come back. I don't know. When I left at seven the next morning, she hadn't been home. So I didn't say goodbye to her because whatever, we'll probably never talk outside of Facebook again. However, I've talked to Erin and Jessica several time through texts since I came back. I miss them. And I miss my bed... which is kind of weird. I've had my queen sized bed for six years but, in five weeks, I got really attached to my extra long twin. Plus, I got so used to the bright lights and sirens at all hours of the night that it's hard to sleep in the silence and darkness here.

02. I already miss being in Chicago but I'm not going to be gone for long. I have to ride the train in Friday to take an assessment test and then meet with a financial aid officer. Then two weeks from Friday I have to go back for my orientation and I move in two days later (on Sunday). Total, I'm only home for like twenty more days, most of which is going to be spent unpacking and repacking.

03. I am so broke that it is ridiculous. I've never been this broke before, ever, and it's really stressing me out. I haven't even got all of my financial aid and loans worked out yet and it's like literally keeping me up at night with worry. Like I've gotten to the point that I'm gonna sell some stuff on eBay just for a little cash.

04. I got in a fight with my dad on my birthday and haven't talked to him since. Six weeks without any contact. His only daughter moves to a huge city on her own and starts college and he doesn't even bother to pick up the phone. For once, I'm not going to be the one to give in. Aside from the occasional check in the mail, he hasn't done anything for me in years and I find that I actually like having him out of my life. It's not like he was going to help me pay for school anyway.

05. Moving on from the depressing stuff, I need you guys' help... ( Brownie points for those that will fill out this poll and give me feedback. )

06. All of you that signed up for the Summer Crossover Fix Exchange over at choco need to check their email! I spent an hour last night working out assignments (it was way harder than you would think it'd be) and I want to make sure you guys got them. So reply to the email and let me know you got it, k? THANK YA.
